Fishing, Photography, Sightseeing, & Pack Trips

Tracking America offers some of the best fishing and pack trips in the lower 48. Our outfitters offer trips into some of the most pristine country that can only be seen from the back of a gentle mountain horse or hiking with your backpack. Since most of these areas are in set aside Wilderness blocks, there are no vehicles or 4 wheelers allowed. Therefore these beautiful areas are kept in a "tread lightly" environment, allowing the general public access, but under close scrutiny by the US Forest Service.

If you have never experienced the Rocky Mountain West and its scenic background, you are missing one of life's true adventures. If your idea of roughing it is the second story of the Hilton Grand Hotel, a pack trip may not be for you. Pack trips are for folks who enjoy the outdoors, possibly catching a brook trout in a clear mountain stream, and cooking steak and fried potatoes over a campfire. Facilities usually include wall tents or summer dome tents, cots with foam pads, and food that tastes better than ever before. Gentle mountain horses are usually the mode of transportation, and are a great way to see the fauna and flora of the wilderness. Wildlife viewing is a great pastime on these adventures and many times a moose, deer, or elk can be seen in camp in the early morning or late evening. Your outfitter can design a trip that is just right for you and your family or friends.

Pack trips usually average $175 to $400 per person per day depending on the area, logistics, and programs offered. Trips that require special permits are usually higher than those that don't. Many times discounts are offered to larger groups or longer stays. Tracking America can put together a customized trip for you in the area you want under the conditions you desire. We have trips in Yellowstone Park, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, and Canada. Requirements vary from outfitter such as weight limitations on saddle horses and minimum ages of kids riding horses. This is where we come in to match your needs with the right outfitter.
